Three Points From A Tale of Two Halves
It was a good result at the Yankee Stadium on Wednesday evening, despite the Boys in Blue not showing their best stuff.
Manager Doménec Torent had this to say after the match:
🎙️ | "I’m very happy for the three points. Congratulations, just for these three points. Because maybe we play one of the best first-halves of the season…. and one of the worst second-halves of the season." - @DomeTorrent#NYCFCpic.twitter.com/H5lJ0YTKoX

It's always good news to win when you’re not at your best (for a full two halves) in MLS.
Argentina At It Again
Taty Castellanos hit ten goals on the season with an ultra confident strike into the bottom left corner in the first half of last night’s festivities.
It was the Argentina connection again, as Maxi found El Animalito with a deft, signature chipped ball over the backline to put the striker in perfect scoring position.
NYC’s #10 continues to lead the league in assists, now sitting on a cool 17 so far on the season.
Leadership by Sean John
The City faithful are nothing short of blessed to have a spine of leaders throughout the squad.
It all starts at the back, with the last line of defense - our #1. Here’s his measured take on last night’s performance, what the team needs to do better, and what the outlook is for Saturday at Yankee Stadium.
Squad Goals
Another big result last night was the fact that NYC avoided yellow cards to any player that was in danger of missing out on the Derby due to accumulation.
Furthermore, fingers crossed, it appears no additional injuries were accumulated during the battle.
That means all your favorites are in line to welcome Red Bulls to The Bronx this weekend.
