This year’s New York City Soccer Initiative (NYCSI) Community Cup brought together 300 youth, ages 8-11, from 30 neighborhoods across all five boroughs for an unforgettable celebration of soccer and community. The highly spirited co-ed citywide, community based 5v5 tournament culminated in a thrilling final at Triborough Bridge Playground in Astoria, where Park Hill– Staten Island emerged victorious. The champions were honored in a special ceremony at City Hall with the Mayor, highlighting the incredible impact of this annual event.
NYC Consulate Cup is a unique community-based soccer tournament that brings the international diplomatic community in New York together to support CITC’s mission to make soccer more accessible in underserved communities. Consulates from around New York City come together to compete in a knockout tournament to raise money for the NYCSI Community Cup.
La Canchita is a lively soccer block party community festival, celebrating community spirit in a festive and uplifting atmosphere. The event features an exciting youth soccer tournament held on a NYCSI mini-pitch and community activities, all centered around the world’s most beloved sport. The program engages approximately 100 kids aged 12-17 in the Mott Haven community, fostering unity while providing a positive and enriching experience through the beautiful game.
City in the Community was joined by players from New York City FC’s First Team to give back to the Bronx community through a product donation day. Alongside volunteers made up of Midea employees and NYCFC’s Front Office, CITC and the players delivered over $400,000 of donated Midea home appliances to a local shelter in The Bronx.
