New York City FC Boys U-15s, U-17s and U-19s are in California for the USSDA post-season.
Here’s everything you need to know about the 2019 Academy Playoffs and Showcase in Oceanside...
Clinching Playoff Berth
NYCFC’s Academy teams kicked off their regular-season in September and have played through the Fall and Spring Regular Seasons, as well as a Winter Showcase.
All matches have led up to this moment, with NYCFC U-17s finishing in top spot on the Northeast Division of the Eastern Conference, while the NYCFC U-19s ranked second.
Both teams will make their bid to lift the trophy, while the U-19s look to emulate the achievements of the 2018 U-19 group by bringing the trophy home to the City.
Tournament Format
The playoffs kick off in the group stage where NYCFC U-17s were drawn into Group F to face Philadelphia Union, Chicago Fire, and Concorde Fire. Our U-19s were drawn into Group C with Toronto FC, Baltimore Armour and Weston FC.
Meanwhile, the U-15’s will be matched up against the Vancouver Whitecaps, Orlando City SC, and Vardar U-15 for a Showcase round of matches.
The Quarterfinals will be played at the end of the week, with the winners advancing to the Semifinals on July 8, then the finals on July 10 in Orange County, California.
