David Villa has been the best offensive weapon for NYCFC in 2016. He has a league-leading 10 goals and on June 2 against Real Salt Lake he collected his first assist of the season. Out of the 10 goals this season, Villa has scored nine of them with his right foot while the other came off his head (April 16 against Columbus).
Like he did last season, Villa scored the first goal of the season at Yankee Stadium. It came on a penalty kick against Toronto FC.

The Captain was voted by the fans as the NYCFC Etihad Airways Player of the month for April. Villa scored four goals in April, including a fantastic finish against Vancouver.

The forward has been named to MLS Team of the Week on three separate occasions so far this season and has been nominated for MLS Goal of the Week twice this season. He’s also pretty good at trick shots.
