Ronald Matarrita has been a crucial part for NYCFC especially as the anchor of the defense. He has played and started 11 matches for NYCFC and has been involved in all of their wins this season. The defender has won 76% of his tackles and has only collected two yellow cards this season.
Matarrita has also shown he can distribute the ball. The 22-year-old has completed 79% of his passes on the season. The defender has also collected two assists this season including a nice cross to Khiry Shelton who scored his second goal of 2016 gainst DC United.
