UEFA announced the EURO all-time 11 today after 3.5 million votes were cast, naming NYCFC midfielder Andrea Pirlo to the team.
In 116 International appearances, Il Maestro lead the Italians to a World Cup victory in 2006 and a cinderella run to the EURO 2012 final. In Pirlo’s 2006 World Cup campaign, he won Man of the Match 3 times, more than any other player in the tournament.

Pirlo joins a starting 11 that features some iconic players but the one who is most notable on the squad is long time Italian teammate Gianluigi Buffon. Both Buffon and Pirlo played for Italy when they won World Cup in 2006. But the duo reconnected with one another on Juventus from 2011-2015, winning the Serie A title each one of those seasons. The duo also carried the club to a UEFA Champions League Final in 2015, being defeated by F.C. Barcelona.
