New York City FC’s Chris Holly is back in major tournament action after becoming the first ever eChampions League Winner earlier in 2019.
The Beast is in London to compete in the FIFA eWorld Cup against the best FIFA players in the world. Here’s everything you need to know…
Who
Chris Holly is one of the 32 leading gamers from around the world competing in the tournament.
Only two Americans made it to the tournament, Chris and Joksan.
When
The tournament will take place over the span of an action packed three days, from August 2-4.
The Format
Thirty-two of the leading gamers will gather to compete in the tournament beginning in a group stage. With four groups, A through D, separated by gaming consoles, Xbox and PlayStation.
Groups A and B will be competing using an Xbox, and Groups C and D will be using a PlayStation.
Chris was placed into Group D, along with eight players and the only other American who qualified for the tournament, Joksan.
The top four players from each group will advance to the Round of 16, then the winners will advance to the quarterfinals.
The final four, the best two on each console, will then be narrowed down to the semifinals.
The best players on each platform will continue on top the Final, playing a match on both PlayStation and Xbox. The winner will take the eWorld Cup Championship title, a $250,000 cash prize, and a trip to The Best FIFA Football Awards.
How to Watch
Each round will be broadcasted in Arabic, Chinese, English, German, Portuguese and Spanish commentary.
