Mixed fortunes for NYCFC as Chris Holly qualifies, but new recruit Joey Calabro just misses out!

The FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT) Champions Cup is one of several qualification routes in the FIFA eWorld Cup, EA’s flagship competition on this year’s edition of the game.
Chris secured qualification through consistent strong performances in last month’s Weekend Leagues, in which players compete in 40 games each weekend throughout the month.
After all four weekends, a monthly global leaderboard is compiled, based on players’ total monthly wins and skill points earned. Chris’s incredibly impressive 157 wins from 160 games was enough to rank 11th in the world on Playstation, and secure qualification through to the next stage.
Commiserations to our new man, Joey, who narrowly missed out on the top 64 spot needed for qualification. He finished in 78th position globally with 148 wins – just one win short of the 149 needed to qualify.
Thankfully, all is not lost – Joey will have a second bite at the cherry in February, when the second qualifying month begins.
The live event, which takes place in January, will feature the top 128 players, split evenly between Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles.
From there, only the top eight competitors from each platform will qualify for the EA Sports FIFA 18 Global Series Playoffs next June.
Congratulations, Chris!
