For the first time this season a pair of NYCFC players have been nominated for MLS Goal of the week (Week 15).
NYCFC captain David Villa and midfielder Andrea Pirlo both have been nominated for Goal of the Week and have advanced to the second round. However Villa loss in the second round but Pirlo advanced to the final.

Villa scored his league leading 11th goal after being fed an amazing back heel pass from Jack Harrison. For Villa this is the second time this season that he has been nominated for MLS Goal of the Week.

Pirlo scored his first career MLS goal against Philadelphia on Saturday. Pirlo scored on a free kick just outside the box which left Union goalkeeper Andre Blake flat footed as he watched the ball hit the back of the net.
