New York City FC forward David Villa has been named to the Major League Soccer Team of the Week for Week 19.
Villa had two goals in the Club's 4-4 draw against Toronto FC on Sunday at Yankee Stadium. Villa, who has a team-leading 10 goals, scored on a 19-yard free kick in the 17th minute and connected from the penalty spot in the 65th for his third brace in the last four matches. Villa has eight goals in the last seven matches and is now one of three players in the league with double-digit tallies this season.
His free kick strike -- the second in the last two matches -- was nominated for MLS Goal of the Week (Week 19).
Villa has been named to MLS Team of the Week on four other occasions in his debut season in the league: Week 2, Week 15, Week 16 and Week 18.
