David Villa has been named to MLS’s Team of the Week for week nine. The captain scored his team-leading fifth and sixth goal of the season in a 3-2 victory against Vancouver on April 30. For Villa, it is his third brace of the season and seventh of his NYCFC career.

This is the third time this season that the striker has been named to MLS Team of the Week (week two and seven). The Captain finished the Month of April with four goals. Villa currently sits fourth in MLS for goals scored in 2016.
