New York City FC’s captain David Villa has been selected to MLSSoccer.com’s Team of the Week (week 30).
David Villa struck for a brace on Friday’s match against the Houston Dynamo to lift NYCFC to a 2-0 win. In the 52nd minute, Villa played a short corner kick to Pirlo, who quickly passed to Villa who scored from an extreme angle. In the first minute of second half stoppage time, Villa took a pass from Tony Taylor and blasted the ball into the net to seal NYCFC’s 2-0 win.
This is the 8th time this season that Villa has been named to MLS Team of the Week.
