Chris Holly will be repping NYCFC at the FUT Champions Cup in Barcelona this weekend.
NYCFC’s first-ever eSports player is competing for a piece of the $200k prize pool in this first FIFA 18 Global Series event of 2018 which runs from January 26 – 28.
Holly, who is City Football Group’s highest-ranked FIFA player, has been in scintillating form of late, with eight 40-0 Weekend League performances on FIFA 18 to date.
Ranked 11th globally for January 2018, Chris will surely be considered one of the favorites for the tournament which has a $22k prize for first place.
Holly qualified thanks to his Weekend League performances in November 2017 and will now battle to punch one of the 16 tickets to the Global Series Playoffs.
Competing alongside fellow City Football Group eSports players Marcus Jorgensen (Man City) and Marcus Gomes (Melbourne), it’s sure to be a dramatic weekend of FIFA action in Spain and we’ll let you know how Chris fares here on NYCFC.com next week.
