For the first time this season, NYCFC captain David Villa has been named the Etihad Airways Player of the Month for April.
Villa last won the award in July of 2015.

Villa has been named to MLS Team of the Week twice this season (Week 2 and 9).Villa scored four goals in five matches in April, including a brace against Vancouver on April 30. Villa registered a team-leading six goals for NYCFC in 2016.
Also Nominated for April’s player of the month honor were midfielder Tommy McNamara and forward Steven Mendoza.
