For the first time in his career, midfielder Jack Harrison has been named the Etihad Airways Player of the Month for June.
The 19-year-old played three matches in May and started in all of them. Harrison scored his first MLS goal against Real Salt Lake on June 2. The midfielder then recorded his first assist when he found David Villa after a long run and helped NYCFC defeat Philadelphia on June 18. For his efforts, the rookie was named to MLS Team of the Week for week 16.
Also nominated for April’s player of the month honor were midfielder Frank Lampard and forward David Villa.
