New York City FC will be without five players for the 2nd vs. 3rd clash with Chicago Fire on Saturday afternoon.
Miguel Camargo will miss the rest of the MLS season after sustaining a non-displaced left hip acetabular fracture on international duty with Panama this week.
It’s estimated that the 23-year old will require 4-5 months of recovery time after picking up the injury in Panama’s 1-0 defeat to Costa Rica in the Gold Cup quarter finals.
Elsewhere, Rodney Wallace is expected to be out of action for four weeks as he suffered a right adductor strain while he was away with the Costa Rican national team.
The winger returned to NYCFC from the Los Ticos camp this week.
Homegrown Player James Sands is also out of contention to play as he picked up an R ASIS apophysitis injury in training and will be treated by medical staff for the next five weeks.
Both Ronald Matarrita (metatarsal fracture) and Khiry Shelton (hamstring) will also miss Saturday’s game as they continue their recoveries from injury.
Finally, a late decision will be taken on Maxime Chanot for Saturday as he has an osteitis pubis inflammation causing him discomfort.
According to MLSSoccer.com’s Injury Report, Chicago will be without John Goossens, Jorge Bava and David Arshakyan, while Bastian Schweinsteiger and Matt Polster are rated as questionable.
