New York City FC is back home in the Bronx this weekend to take on New England Revolution as they look to keep the win streak going.
The Boys in Blue haven’t faced Bruce Arena’s in-form side this season, but this first meeting could see City move into top spot in the East with a win.
Coming into the match, NYCFC is without Alex Callens, Justin Haak, Sean Johnson and Tony Rocha, who are all on international duty. Héber, Joe Scally, and James Sands all also miss out through injury, while Ronald Matarrita is suspended.
City’s leading scorer, Héber, sustained a quad injury against the Vancouver Whitecaps and will not be available for New England. According to Dome Torrent, the Brazilian will miss at least 3-4 weeks but could be back for Decision Day at Philadelphia.
Scally continues his road to recovery after having hip surgery earlier this season, while Sands is nursing a collarbone injury.
Although NYCFC is without eight players as of now, Ismael Tajouri-Shradi’s road to recovery could be coming to an end. The Libyan has been upgraded from “out” to “questionable” and could take the field with his teammates after missing a number of games.
He is joined by Ebenezer Ofori, who has also been upgraded to questionable after his injury.
Come on out to Yankee Stadium to cheer on New York City’s Football Club as the road to the postseason continues, #ForTheCity.
