New York City FC will be without four players for the visit of Eastern Conference rivals Toronto FC.
Patrick Vieira will still be without the services of Miguel Camargo and Rodney Wallace who face off in the knockout stages of CONCACAF Gold Cup tomorrow with Costa Rica and Panama.
Elsewhere, Ronald Matarrita is a long term injury absentee with a broken metatarsal and Khiry Shelton is still not ready to return to action after missing the last three months.
There is better news regarding Yangel Herrera and Maxi Moralez who are both vying for selection against Greg Vanney’s high-flying Toronto.
Yangel limped off the field with 30 minutes remaining of the 3-2 defeat to Vancouver but has recovered during the international break and will hope to resume his fine form in midfield.
Meanwhile, Moralez, who came on for the last 15 minutes of that last encounter, is fully recovered and will hope to be selected as Vieira’s no.10.
For Toronto, Jozy Altidore, Michael Bradley and Justin Morrow will take no part in this first meeting with NYCFC in 2017 as they are all in the U.S Gold Cup squad for the knockout rounds.
Also in Gold Cup action and out of the running to represent the away team on Wednesday, Jonathan Osorio (Canada) and Armando Cooper (Panama), while Steven Beitashour and Nick Hagglund miss out through injury.
