New York City FC midfielder Yangel Herrera will miss the remainder of the 2018 season after undergoing a successful arthroscopic ankle procedure. He is expected to make a full recovery.
Yangel sustained the injury in the 3-1 defeat to Houston Dynamo on May 25 and missed the past two games.
To date, the Venezuelan international has made 33 appearances for NYCFC, scoring once, in the victory over Columbus at the MAPFRE Stadium in 2017, and contributing five assists.
