New York City FC was idle this past weekend, but a pair of players suited up for their respective countries for international play.
Midfielder
Andrea Pirlo
played the full 90 minutes in Italy's 1-0 Euro 2016 Qualifier victory over Malta on Sept. 3 in Florence. Pirlo didn't feature in the Azzurri's 1-0 win over Bulgaria three days later as Italy moved atop Group H with 18 points.
New York City FC midfielder Mix Diskerud made a pair of substitute appearances for the United States in friendlies against Peru and Brazil.
Mix came on at halftime of the 2-1 comeback win over Peru on Sept. 4 and was subbed on in the 72nd minute of the 4-1 loss to Brazil on Tuesday.
New York City FC return to action on Saturday against FC Dallas. Kickoff is 8:30 p.m. ET from Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas (YES Network, WFAN, WADO).
