New York City FC goalkeeper Josh Saunders has been nominated for MLS Save of the Week for week one.
Saunders had six saves against the Chicago Fire, one of which has been nominated. In the fifth minute, the Chicago Fire’s David Accam latched onto a ball, dribbled through the defense and found himself one-on-one with Saunders. Saunders saved Accam’s attempt with a collapsing maneuver, preventing the goal.
Saunders goes up against San Jose’s keeper, David Bingham, in round one.
