New York City FC is headed to Nippert Stadium on Saturday night as they look to resume climbing the Eastern Conference Table.
Here’s Keys to the Match, presented by Tri-State Ford…
Fresh Legs for Cincy
New York City’s Football Club is back in action after a tough loss on the road against the defending champions, Atlanta United. Now they are headed to Ohio to take on FC Cincinnati for the second time this season.
Unlike the match against Atlanta, NYCFC has had a week to rest, recover, and regroup for the upcoming matchup.
With fresh legs and a hunger to continue the climb, the Road Blues look to make their bounce-back against FC Cincinnati.
A Night of Firsts
Let’s go back to the first meeting between the first-year MLS team and City in the Bronx. It was pride night and the energy was through the roof.
NYCFC took the stage and defeated FC Cincinnati 5-2, on the strength of Héber’s first MLS brace and additional goals from Isi, Mitri, and Maxi.
The firsts continue as the City Boys make their first trip to Nippert Stadium, taking on Ron Jans’ side on their turf.
All Aboard the H9 Train
Héber scored two goals against Cincinnati for his fourth and fifth goals in City Blue.
City’s striker has now doubled that number and has a total 10 goals to his name.
He scored his 10th goal after coming off the bench against Atlanta United to give NYC a lifeline last weekend, becoming the team’s lead-scorer in the 2019 season.
Here’s to another big performance against Cincy on Saturday.

Back to Winning Ways
NYCFC has tasted defeat just five times this season, and as they head to Nippert Stadium they’ll look to turn the tide and once again returning to their winning ways.
City is currently sitting in the fourth spot on the table and a win on Saturday could put them in striking position for the top spot.
The Boys in Blue will need to bring home all three points on the road to continue their ascent up the table.
