March Etihad Player of the Month: Vote Now!

Etihad POTM March

The four contenders for NYCFC’s Etihad Player of the Month have been revealed.

Alexander Callens, Maxi Moralez, David Villa and Rodney Wallace will all go head to head for the right to win the first individual player award of 2017.

Let’s take a look at the contenders…

Alexander Callens

His first nomination in a very impressive first month as an NYCFC player!

The Peruvian international defender has been an important part of a defense which has conceded just two goals in the first three games.

Maxi Moralez

Another player in contention after his first month in NYCFC blue, Maxi Moralez was a key contributor in the 4-0 win over DC United and has slotted straight into Patrick Vieira’s system.

He scored his first goal in that victory over DC and also assisted David Villa for his brilliant second.

David Villa

The league MVP has picked up right where he left off in 2016, netting two goals in his first three games of the campaign.

Villa was in devastating form against DC, tearing the defense to shreds, scoring a couple of brilliant goals – one, a stooping header and the other, a sublime individual effort.

Rodney Wallace

Tied as NYCFC’s top-scorer at this early stage of the season, it’s Costa Rican international Rodney Wallace who has scored in each of his two games at Yankee Stadium to date.

Reacting first on two occasions to turn in rebounds, Wallace has taken to life in New York seamlessly and looks to be a sound offseason addition.
