Matarrita Out for 4-6 Weeks

International Preview Matarrita

Ronald Mataritta faces a spell on the sidelines after sustaining a high ankle sprain in training.

The Costa Rican international will definitely miss Sunday’s game against Orlando City SC and is estimated to be out for a period of 4-6 weeks.

Ronald, who was named to the MLS Team of the Week, following another excellent performance against Philadelphia Union on Friday night, joins Khiry Shelton on the injury list after the winger suffered a hamstring strain at the Talen Energy Stadium.

Both players will hope to be back in the reckoning for minutes when NYCFC travel to Real Salt Lake on May 17, 2017.

Matarrita has started all six MLS games to date in 2017 and has made three assists, including the one for Jack Harrison which opened the scoring last time out.
