Decision Day is looming, so it’s no surprise that NYCFC have made headlines all over the globe this week.
With our final game of the regular season is almost upon us, so let’s find out what’s been populating the printed and pixelated pages off and online.
We kick off with an article from Dylan Butler on MLSSoccer.com, who posits that NYCFC’s run to the postseason is, in a large part, down to the man in the dugout.
Butler writes: “A distant hope a year ago, the MLS postseason is now a reality and the MLS Cup itself isn’t out of the realm of possibility.
While there have been a few key additions on the roster, including Ronald Matarita, Jack Harrison and Maxime Chanot it is the change of culture that is the biggest difference and that comes directly from Vieira’s inclusive message.”

Elsewhere, David Villa has walked back speculation that he had personally spoken to Andres Iniesta in an attempt to lure his former Barcelona teammate to NYCFC.
According to El Guaje, this simply isn’t true, but he is, unsurprisingly, keen on the notion…
Villa is quoted on EmpireOfSoccer.com as saying: “I haven’t talked with him but I hope New York City sign Iniesta because he’s a very good player,” Villa said, “but I didn’t talk to him about this.”

Finally, Frank Lampard has been discussing the upcoming Premier League match between his former employers Chelsea against Manchester United.
Frank believes that Jose Mourinho will be eager to inflict defeat on his former team on his return to Stamford Bridge.
"Jose Mourinho's a winner," Lampard told Sky Sports. "I've worked with him and against him and he wants to win games, none more so than when it's a big competitive game like this.
"He'll be very aware of the history and I'm sure he's still got a huge feeling for Chelsea from his time at the club.
"On the other hand he'll be working hard on his team to get them organized to get the right result at Stamford Bridge.
"I expect nothing more from a passionate man on the touchline and an organized Manchester United side will give Chelsea a very tough game."
