Meet Founding Members Chris and Anthony of section 233A. These Founding Members have called section 233a home since the very first match.
Chris (left) is a Bronx native who was drawn to NYCFC from the beginning. To Chris, the team embodies the fabric of New York City because the team plays in the five boroughs, making it feel like home for him. The 19-year old’s favorite player is Tommy McNamara, but he also enjoys watching Andrea Pirlo because of his grace on the pitch and his "beautiful long flowing hair."

Chris has a unique pre-match tradition which involves his favorite NYCFC scarf and a deer head.
"Before I leave my house to go to home matches, I hang my lucky NYCFC scarf on a deer head that we have mounted on the wall. Even when the team plays on the road we always put the scarf on it for good luck.” Chris said.
Sitting on the other side of Chris is fellow Bronx native Anthony (right). Anthony has followed Italian soccer for years, so it comes as no surprise that his favorite player is Andrea Pirlo. However, while following Pirlo and NYCFC, Anthony has now found another player that he can relate to, a player that is from New York City and has a tenacious attitude. That player is Tommy McNamara.

Anthony enjoys McNamara’s playing style because of his dedication and humility. Coincidentally, Anthony’s cousin played high school soccer with McNamara at Don Bosco Prep in New Jersey.
“I like the fact that he doesn’t look like a typical soccer player. He doesn’t have a fancy haircut or worry about that, he just works hard and always finds a way to get it done,” said the 17-year old.
These two look to continue to make 233a their home this season and hope to be part of Club for many years to come.
