New York City FC is pleased to announce the acquisition of Matthew Dunn via the second overall pick in today's MLS Dispersal Draft.
Dunn, a 5'10", 20-year old midfielder, is New York City FC's 7th overall player signing. Having spent time in the youth sides of Grasshopper Club Zurich and FC Dallas between 2006 and 2009, Dunn signed with FC Koln where he spent two seasons.
After his release from Koln, Dunn signed with Serbian club OFK Beograd where he spent the next 18-months before moving back to the United States to enroll at the University of Maine at Fort Kent in 2013, where he made an instant impression scoring 7 goals and 10 assists in 17 appearances.
Dunn left UMFK to enter the MLS Waiver Draft and was selected by Chivas USA on April 17, 2014. Dunn finished the season strongly at the end of Chivas USA's last campaign in Major League Soccer, making seven appearances and earning player of the month for the final two months of the season. Matt also has US Youth National Team experience, making 18 appearances with the U-17's from 2010 to 2011, and three appearances with the U-18's in 2012.

Speaking about the NYCFC fans and playing at the Yankee stadium, Dunn said, "New York is a great city with so much going on. Playing at Yankee Stadium is going to be incredible. So many people in this country dream about that and to actually be able to do it is unreal.”
