New York City FC today drafted three players in the 2022 MLS SuperDraft.
The first player selected by the Club was Princeton’s Kevin O’Toole. The forward, who recorded seven goals and nine assists for Princeton last season, was chosen with the 34th pick overall in the second round of Tuesday’s draft.
The Boys in Blue were originally scheduled to make the 28th pick of the day, but traded that to FC Dallas for $50,000 in Allocation Money and the 34th pick of Round Two.
That was followed up by the arrival Kingsford Adjei with the 56th pick of Round Two. The forward was drafted from the University of Dayton, where he recorded five goals and three assists in 15 games in 2021.
The pair were joined by El Mahdi Youssoufi. The forward recorded 13 goals and 2 assists in 16 games for St Francis College Brooklyn in 2021.
