New York City FC FIFA '16 Fan & Player Tournament

Four New York City FC players were in attendance for a special Cityzens event on Oct. 5. Forwards Khiry Shelton and Tony Taylor, midfielder Pablo Alvarez, and defender RJ Allen competed in a FIFA 16 tournament against New York City FC Supporters.

Cityzen Sam Kilb spent his City Points wisely "I’m here for the FIFA tournament which has pitted supporters against New York City FC players in a battle for ultimate supremacy in FIFA 16,” he said. Kilb was placed in a group with forward Khiry Shelton in the tournament, but ultimately lost because Shelton “parked the bus" after going up 1-0. The result didn’t spoil his night though.

"I’ve enjoyed the opportunity to meet the players, sit down with them, and play FIFA like I would with my normal friends,” he said. "It’s a nice way to connect with these professional athletes that we see down on the field every week. I’m extremely grateful for this opportunity!”
Approximately 80 Cityzens spent quality time with the players, snapping pictures and receiving personal autographs on their New York City FC gear, while a special 12 played FIFA against each other and the players.
"It’s a chance for us players to connect with our supporters and it’s been an amazing experience so far,” RJ Allen said. "They’ve been coming out all year to support us, so it’s nice to give back and meet them.”
