David Villa continued his torrid scoring streak with his second brace in three matches as New York City FC beat the Montreal Impact 2-1 on Saturday night at Stade Saputo.


The Club's captain put the visitors ahead 1-0 in the 34th minute and scored the match winner on a sumptuous free kick in the 82nd to bring his team-leading scoring total to eight goals in his debut season in Major League Soccer.


Villa, who was named to the MLS Team of the Week (Week 18) along with teammate Josh Saunders, ranks in the top 5 in the league in goals (8; 5th), shots (64; 3rd) and shots on goal (32; 2nd).
