New York City FC fell to FC Cincinnati 2-1 on Wednesday. FC Cincinnati dealt NYCFC its first loss of the pre-season after a wild finish. All three goals were scored after the 89th minute, including a Tommy McNamara equalizer that would not stand. FC Cincinnati opened the scoring first off a turnover, then McNamara tied it up, but New York City FC would give a goal off a corner in the 94th minute.

It was a mix and match lineup tonight for NYCFC. Trialists Romain Gall, Shannon Gomez, Ivan Ivanov and Ernest Agyiri all played in the match, with Romain, Gomez and Ivanov starting for NYCFC. Patrick Vieira experimented with a new formation tonight (3-2-2-3) leaving three on the backline and the Club looked comfortable.
