Two New York City FC players have received U.S. Green Cards, freeing up two International Player spots for the 2018 MLS season.
Maxime Chanot and Alex Ring have both been granted permanent resident status in the United States, effective immediately.
As residents, the two players will no longer occupy international Player spots on the roster, meaning NYCFC are now using ten International Player spots out of a possible ten.
Each MLS team starts with eight international spots for a season – thanks to Wednesday’s GAM trade with Philadelphia Union and the transaction which saw Frederic Brillant move to DC United, NYCFC has ten spots which are now being occupied.
NYCFC’s International Players are:
1. David Villa
2. Maxi Moralez
3. Yangel Herrera
4. Alexander Callens
5. Anton Tinnerholm
6. Cedric Hountondji
7. Ebenezer Ofori
8. Jo Inge Berget
9. Jesus Medina
10. Ismael Tajouri-Shradi
