No rest for the weary, NYCFC fans. The offseason is coming thick and fast and there is plenty to look forward to as NYCFC looks to build upon their second place finish in 2017.
As the 2018 iteration of the Boys in Blue starts coming together – here are the dates on your calendar.
Expansion Draft: December 12
LAFC joins Major League Soccer next season as the 24th team and the second in Los Angeles. A big step for them comes in the form of the expansion draft – where every current MLS team will have to leave players unprotected for Bob Bradley and John Thorrington to pick from. Keep an eye on this as it usually is the first shoe to fall and provides clues to upcoming offseason moves from teams all over the league.
Adidas MLS Player Combine: January 11 – 17
The MLS combine comes to Orlando, Florida this year – where the top collegiate soccer prospects from across the nation come together to show their talents off to league scouts and coaches. When you get the sporting hierarchy from every team in MLS in one city – you know some deals will be discussed.
2018 SuperDraft: January 19
The SuperDraft returns to Philadelphia – where NYCFC first participated in 2015 ahead of the club’s inaugural season. NYCFC has historically made a good amount of noise at the annual selection – so there’s no reason to think this year will be any different.
Preseason
Before you know it it’s that time again. Players report for preseason on January 22. We look forward to welcoming in the new faces that come with it.

Early January means you can start circling dates on the calendar for NYCFC games back at Yankee Stadium and planning potential away trips.
