New York City FC will have to wait until the MLS Cup final to discover their CONCACAF Champions League fate.
Seattle Sounders’ 3-1 aggregate win over Colorado Rapids in the Eastern Conference finals means that Patrick Vieira’s men face an anxious wait until December 10 to find out if continental cup soccer will come to NYC in 2017.
A victory for Colorado would have qualified NYCFC to the group stages but Jordan Morris’s 56th minute away goal at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park was enough to see Sounders through.

Toronto and Montreal meet in the Western Conference final on Wednesday night looking to set up an MLS Cup final showdown with Seattle next month.
It’s a final NYCFC will watch with interest, knowing that if a Canadian side wins the MLS Cup, they will be in the Champions League in 2017-18.
Montreal hold a 3-2 lead from the first leg going into the BMO Field meeting.
