Pirlo 50: Andrea’s Top Five Moments at NYCFC

U16s Win

Andrea Pirlo brought up 50 MLS Regular Season appearances for NYCFC at DC this weekend.

To celebrate our maestro, we’ve picked out his top five moments in sky blue (so far)…

Goal no.1

Andrea might only have one goal for NYCFC to his name so far but it was a screamer.

A trademark free-kick against Philadelphia Union in June, this one really brought Yankee Stadium to its feet.

It was a crucial goal too as it was the third in a 3-2 win.

Pirlo’s Corner

Of course Andrea is more famed for creating goals than he is for scoring them.

Some players derive just as much joy from being the architect and Pirlo is certainly one of them, as he showed with this perfect corner which was finished acrobatically by David Villa…

Crew Cut Open

The same combination again – from one DP to another… this is another moment which showcases the cuteness of Pirlo’s deliveries.

A dink over and around the Columbus defense, this was a crucial equalizing goal from Villa.

Opening up Orlando

Speaking of assists, this one against Orlando City must be right up there with Pirlo’s very best.

A delicate, perfectly-weighted lob over the defense, it was certainly one of the prettiest goals we scored in 2016…

Pirlo is Not Impressed

Finally, one from off the field… what happened when Andrea met the Harlem Globetrotters?

Just in case you missed it last week…
