It’s Record Store Day – that day of the year where the world basks in the glory of its local independent music emporiums.
Casuals and hardcore collectors the world over are descending upon their favorite purveyors of the vinyl medium, so we thought we’d get involved in the fun…
We’re not short of music aficionados in the NYCFC locker room – there’s always fierce competition when it comes to selecting the prematch tunes which send our boys in blue out to battle at Yankee Stadium.
For Record Store Day 2017, we caught up with one of the new boys to get an idea of his music taste. May we present, Johnson’s Jams: The NYCFC’s goalkeeper’s top five records of all-time.
But first, an introduction from MC Johnson… Sean told NYCFC.com: “Just love dope beats and good lyrics. These albums pretty much cover every occasion, from pump up music to winding down and everything in between.”
Kanye West - Life of Pablo
Jay Z – Magna Carta... Holy Grail
Lil Wayne – Tha Carter II
Late Nights – Jeremiah
Drake – More Life
There we have it, Sean Johnson’s desert island discs. What gets you in the mood for watching our beloved NYCFC? Let us know on Twitter @NYCFC and take a look at our matchday playlists here.
