NYCFC have two players in the MLSSoccer.com Team of the Week.
Alex Ring and Rodney Wallace are both recognized for their excellent performances on Sunday, while David Villa is named on the bench.
NYCFC roared to a 3-1 victory over Atlanta United at Yankee Stadium and it was Wallace who restored the lead after Gerardo Martino’s men had equalized before the half.
The Costa Rican then turned provider for Maxi Moralez who sealed the victory with the game-clinching third a minute later.
Ring, who has been an instrumental cog in the NYCFC machine in the first nine games of the season, made 10 recoveries and four interceptions in another influential showing in the midfield engine room.
In addition, the Finnish international completed 89% of his passes, won three tackles and made two clearances in a typically industrious afternoon’s work.
