New York City FC defender Ronald Matarrita was named to the Costa Rica final roster for the 2016 Copa America Centenario.

Matarrita has been a consistent starter for the Ticos, last starting for them on March 29 in a 3-0 World Cup qualifier victory against Jamaica.
Costa Rica is slotted in Group A for the 2016 Copa America Centenario and in group play will face:
- Paraguay on June 4 in Orlando, FL.
- United States on June 7 in Chicago, IL.
- Columbia on June 11 in Houston, TX.
Matarrita has played and started 10 matches for NYCFC and has registered two assists.
