New York City FC defender Ronald Matarrita has been selected to MLS’s Team of the Week for week 16. This is the third time this season that Matarrita has been named to MLS's Team of the Week (week six and ten).

The defender recorded his first career MLS Goal and was part of a back four that helped NYCFC collect their third clean sheet of the season. The NYCFC defense only allowed two shots on target for the whole match in the Club’s 2-0 win against the Sounders on Saturday. The Costa Rican converted five of his six tackles.
