The Second Leg: All You Need to Know

Tommy Toronto Matchup

NYCFC are 2-0 down in the series against Toronto but it’s still all to play for when the teams meet again.

Here’s everything you need to know about our upcoming Eastern Conference semifinals second leg…

When?

Kickoff on Sunday, November 6 has been set for 6.30 ET which means the game is sandwiched between the conclusions of the Red Bulls v Montreal and Dallas v Seattle series.

Where?

The match, which takes place at Yankee Stadium, will televised on Fox Sports 1 - further broadcast information to follow later in the week.

Away Goals?

Away goals will be the tiebreaker in regular time but not in extra time which will be played in the event of a 2-0 NYCFC win after 90 minutes. For example, if Toronto score one in normal time, we would need to score four to win by three clear goals to advance.

Elsewhere…

Montreal take a 1-0 lead to New Jersey with them following a stunning winner from Matteo Mancosu, while LA Galaxy and Seattle also overcame Colorado (1-0) and FC Dallas (3-0) respectively.

Man in the Middle...

Referee Kevin Stott will officiate the second leg.

They Said…

Vieira: “It makes it really difficult for us – but I think I have enough experience in the game to know that things can change. I look in the dressing room and we know anything can happen. We have to believe, we have to give ourselves a chance and go for it.”

Harrison: “Anything can happen in football – it’s important to just try to keep a positive mindset to keep working hard going into training just to prepare as much as we can for the weekend.”

Chanot: “There’s no point going to play this second game unless we believe we can turn it around. We’re still looking forward to this game, we still believe in ourselves – why not? You never know what’s going to happen. It’s what I believe myself and I trust it.”
