Khiry Shelton has been ruled out of action for 4-6 weeks.
The winger suffered a hamstring injury in the dying minutes of New York City FC’s 2-0 victory over Philadelphia Union.
Shelton was introduced in place of Jack Harrison in the 71st minute at the Talen Energy Stadium, helping NYCFC to see out the game for a first road win of 2017.
The 23-year old has made four substitute appearances to date this season coming off the back of 24 Regular Season games in 2016 where he scored four goals.
Khiry looks certain to miss home games versus Orlando City and Atlanta United, as well as away matches at Columbus and Dallas.
It’s hoped he could be back in line for a return when NYCFC travel to Real Salt Lake on May 17, 2017 but we’ll keep you posted on any further updates from the medical team on Shelton’s condition in our weekly Injury Report features.
