New York City FC notched another three points at Yankee Stadium this past Saturday.
Despite missing David Villa and Anton Tinnerholm due to injury – the Boys in Blue maintained their perfect record for the young 2018 season behind a fantastic team performance and timely goals from Ismael Tajouri-Shradi and Maxi Moralez.
It was the Argentinean #10 who stole the show as he continues to win over the hearts of the NYC faithful since his arrival last season.
Moralez was everywhere vs. Orlando, spinning webs with the ball at his feet and hopping from action to action like the famed New York superhero he invokes with his now regular goal celebrations – Spiderman.
The midfield three of Moralez, Yangel Herrera, and Alex Ring has looked supremely powerful thus far, and the strength of that triumvirate was even more evident on this occasion with City’s top attacking threat unavailable for selection.
Moralez seemed to be everywhere the ball was – earning back possession deep in the midfield on the rare occasions when the ball was lost, and eventually putting Orlando to the sword with a low left-footed finish in the 74th minute off the deft touch from Jesus Medina.

Key Moment…
It was that strong strike in front of the supporter’s section that gave NYCFC a bit of breathing room late in the match as Orlando relentlessly defended to decent effect for the first 60 minutes of the match.
