Tommy McNamara has moved on into the semifinals of the AT&T MLS Goal of the Week for his strike against the Red Bulls. The midfielder ousted Luke Mulholland in the first round and will now go up against Ignacio Piatti of the Montreal Impact.
The midfielder received a pass from RJ Allen, took a couple touches, and then hit an absolute screamer into the top corner of Luis Robles’ goal.
This is the fourth time this season that McNamara has been nominated for Goal of the Week, previously being nominated in week one, week four and week 11.
The 25-year-old won the AT&T Goal of the Week honor in week four with a header against New England.
