Trending: World Cup Joy and Bad Misses

While the Boys in Blue get to work with their national teams around the world and their first teammates up at SUNY Purchase, the rest of the footballing world is going mental…

Please find evidence below:

World Cup Joy

After three decades without a World Cup to look forward to, Egypt is flipping the script, and one Twitter user “@sdeezy_” was there to capture the unbridled joy that comes with such an achievement after so long.

Check out her dad’s celebration after Mohamed Salah scored the 95th minute penalty vs. Congo to clinch Egypt’s place at Russia 2018.

Viking Clap Back

Iceland, population 334,000, became the smallest nation to ever qualify for the World Cup – and the only one with fewer than 1million people.

Technically speaking, this means 0.1% of all Icelandic men aged 22-34 will be going to the World Cup in Russia next summer. And that’s just as part of the squad. If Euro 16 is anything to go by, expect a few more to be in attendance rooting on their squad…

Ford the River

Meanwhile in Yank land, things are looking up for the USMNT qualification process after Christian Pulisic’s tour de force vs. Panama in Orlando last week. The Stars N’ Stripes can qualify tonight with a result in Trinidad and Tobago – but they may need some help getting to the field.

From the Bureau of Bad Misses

Harkemase then lost in stoppage time… Ouch.

The Great

People have been clamoring for an American Teen at Barca for ages… well, wait no longer. Up and comer Khalid is on location.
