NYCFC u16s are in Florida where they’re preparing to take part in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Winter Showcase.
Led by Head Coach Matt Pilkington and Assistant Coach Hugo Guzman, our boys will be locking horns with FC Dallas, San Jose Earthquakes and Columbus Crew SC Wolves.
Hosted by the Premier Sports Campus in Lakewood, Florida, it’s the final engagement our u16s will take part in this calendar year.
Supporters will have the opportunity to see some of our most promising academy talents on Monday morning as the match against the Crew SC Academy Wolves is the feature game, meaning it will be streamed by U.S Soccer on ussoccerda.com.
The Winter Showcase provides Academy teams meaningful games against a variety of competition from throughout the country. The event focuses on player, coach and referee development and also serves as a premier opportunity for talent identification.
The Winter Showcase schedule will feature 219 games, and the Academy will highlight the quality of clubs and players with six Feature Games. The matchups were selected to provide competitive games, as well as highlight clubs who exemplify the Academy philosophy.
