Patrick Vieira admits he was left frustrated and disappointed by New England Revolution’s late equaliser at Yankee Stadium.
NYCFC looked set to bounce back quickly from the weekend loss to Atlanta but had to settle for a draw.
“There are always positives you can take from a game and from the game against New England the main one would probably be not losing back-to-back games, but I’m disappointed because when you lead at home twice, you expect to take the three points,” said Vieira,
“We are frustrated because we feel like we’ve thrown two points away.
“Physically we looked a bit tired and we wanted to be more solid defensively. They were putting long balls into our box and we needed to defend those better because that’s where their second goal came from.
“We will look at how the guys recover from this game before we decide about Saturday’s game. They need to be fresh both physically and mentally because it is another big game for us against Philadelphia.”
The team returns to Yankee Stadium on Saturday, June 3rd at 1pm.
