New York City FC takes on an undefeated FC Dallas side on Sunday evening at Yankee Stadium.
The final remaining MLS unbeaten comes into town confident, but Head Coach Patrick Vieira believes this is what makes it such an enticing early season test.
Vieira said: “Against Dallas it’s going to be another tough game. They played quite well against New England. They got the result that they wanted to.”
“We’re really looking forward to playing that game, it’s going to be a really good test for us to see how we can bounce back after our loss to Portland.”
Vieira continues to be without Ismael Tajouri-Shradi who is recovering from a hamstring injury, but Dallas’ current unbeaten record doesn’t make a difference to the boss.
“It doesn’t matter. I know that game will be difficult for us, because Dallas is a really good team. But at the same time it’s going to be really important for us to react,” Vieira added.
Despite the loss in Portland, lessons were learned that should serve the Boys in Blue well going forward.
Vieira said: “We learned that we have to come out with different options and maybe a different way of attacking the opposition team. We had the possession of the ball but we didn’t create much. We have to come with something different because we may face the same type of game against Dallas.”
