“Our next game will be tough and really difficult. We’re going to try to go there and play a normal game and of course, try to get the 3 points.”
Those were the words of New York City FC Head Coach Patrick Vieira ahead of Sunday afternoon’s match against New England Revolution.
Going into this showdown in Boston, NYCFC are three points ahead of Atlanta and will be fighting to remain in the second spot in the East and earn a bye through to the Conference Semi-Final round.

Patrick Vieira knows Sunday will be a difficult game with the Revs wanting to close off their last home match day of the season with a bang.
Vieira told NYCFC.com: “It’s going to be a difficult one because you always want to win your last game at home.
“That’s why I believe that New England will play hard and we can expect a tough game.”
It’s been over two weeks since the Boys in Blue last played a competitive match together, but with a few players gone, Vieira understands the impact it will have on this game.
“I think it’s the same for the majority of the teams - you’re losing international players and then you work with players who’ve stayed.
“The international break is great because you review all the games and see which side of the games you really need to improve before the playoffs.”

NYCFC head into their last two games of the Regular Season, ending it with a home match against Columbus Crew.
“When you look at the last 2 games that we have to play, Columbus will be even harder,” Vieira stated.
“We’re going to be prepared. We have to concentrate on ourselves. How can we be better as a team and how can we play 90 minutes and try not to make mistakes.”
