Here are the Boys in Blue in the running for the Etihad Airways Player of the Month for June 2019.
Maxi Moralez
The Argentine playmaker has been taking fans Into the Spiderverse all June across NYCFC’s five unbeaten matches in the League and the U.S. Open Cup. Highlights include his three assists and one goal performance vs. FC Cincinnati on the 6th and his two clutch penalty kicks vs. Philadelphia Union on the 29th. Maxi finished June with a monster total of three goals and seven assists.
Keaton Parks
June has seen some big-time contributions from the big #55 from Texas. The U.S. Open Cup opener vs. North Carolina FC gave Keaton a stage, and he delivered to the tune of two goals to help NYCFC earn a first-ever victory in the knockout competition. A key assist in the Round of 16 away to D.C. United helped unlock a trip to Orlando for the quarterfinals. Keaton then brought his midfield swagger to MLS play when he went the full 90 in NYC’s final victory of the month over the first-place Union at Yankee Stadium.
Taty Castellanos
His teammates have been calling him “El Animal” for a bit now, and the NYC faithful are starting to see why. As Dome said in his post-match press conference, he never doubted Taty because of the way he works in the facility every day. And now the goals are starting to come. Two big strikes in front of the supporters vs. Philly capped off a fantastic month that started with his long blast to earn an important away point at Columbus.
