It’s time to vote for your Etihad Player of the Month for March.
NYCFC’s first month of 2018 has gotten the Boys in Blue off to the best start in club history – with a record of 4-1-0 heading into April.
Standout performers abound, but there can only be one. Who gets your vote?
Ismael Tajouri-Shradi
Has anyone made as big an impact on the proceedings as newcomer Ismael Tajouri-Shradi? The skillful winger has led the team on back to back road weekends, scoring a beautiful brace against New England to earn a point, and pushing on to set up Maxi Moralez for the winner in San Jose last weekend. That gives him a total of 3 goals and 1 assist on the season so far. Just getting started…
Maxi Moralez
The second year designated player looks more than at home here at the start of 2018. The Argentinian #10 also has 3 goals and 1 assist to his name so far, putting him just two away from his goal total for all of last season. With David Villa looking to get back in the lineup, Maxi should have even more space to exploit in the month of April.
Maxime Chanot
What a welcome sight it is to see Maxime Chanot back on the field in the sky blue. The central defender had the business end of last season derailed by injury, but he’s been back to top strength, often captaining the side that currently sits at first place in the early season Supporters Shield standings. Clean sheets against Sporting KC and Orlando City stand out, with the Boys in Blue only conceding four goals through five games so far this season.
Anton Tinnerholm
Whether Anton Tinnerholm was just being modest we will never know… But it’s hard to believe the TinnerBOOM was both invented and became a regular occurrence in March 2018. Scoring one thunder-bolt each with the right and the left foot, Anton has endeared himself to the City faithful. But it’s not just the goals, it’s the running, defending, and crossing that has set him apart so far. Here’s to even more from our Swedish right-back.
